The Euro-Arab Youth Conference – Mare Nostrum “Youth, Migration and Development” was held to promote the inter-cultural understanding between young people from European and Arab Countries by promoting partnerships between youth organisations .

The event was held in Tunisia and Sicily, ground of crossroads, multicultural heritage and welcoming people, with the participation of 150 young people who, after travelling by boat on historical migration flows, arrived in Ragusa, where they took part in the event, structured in plenary sessions and thematic workshops.

The trip was a fundamental part of the project, not only because of the symbolic meaning of a migration atmosphere but also as a moment for knowing each other and ice breaking.

One week before the conference, the FNG organised a Training for Facilitators who will run the workshops during the Conference.

The document was one of the main results of the event and will be used as a point of reference for institutions, youth organisations, and future events. The recommendations included in it resulted from several days of activities, debates and seminars.
